Stash Report

No changes....again.
I did organize my sewing room this week.
Found a couple of clothes sewing projects I had forgotten I started.

I organized my Christmas sewing list.
I put all the projects that had been started
and the patterns for what I was planning
into one container next to my sewing desk.

I also started my September sewing list.
I accomplish more with a list.....

I have been crocheting again

I made myself a new scarf for the cool weather...
if it ever happens!
I am starting a cap in the same red/grey yarn this week.

How are you doing?

Fabric Stash report

No changes...again!

I am setting my goals for the next year
and got so wrapped up in getting organized
that I never got into the sewing room.

My year of organization runs from
September to August, not January to December.
I've been married for nearly 30 years to a Teacher.
Our lives seem to be planned around the school year.

I did something new this week.
I joined a knit/crochet group
called Knit and Sip.
We meet once a week and the ladies
bring their current knit or crochet project.
I've started a crochet scarf.

I will definitely have something to show for my
fabric stash busting report next week.
At least, I better...
I have 2 major sewing projects that are both
on a deadline....

Since I don't have any photos, I am including
for your enjoyment.
I went to their concert last night, and it was wonderful!

Davis County Fair ribbons

We made our annual trip to the
Davis County Fair today.

We visited the Bunny Barn

My daughter V tried to figure out how she could bring
one home and hide it in her room from her Father.
She hide a kitten in her room when she was 12
(for about 3 hours..."Do you hear a cat meowing?")
and her Dad let her keep the kitten.
Nope...no bunnies came home....

I always like the tractors...don't know why...I just do!

Here is one of my quilts that won a ribbon.
It's going to be donated to the Happy Chemo charity.
I used up my solid scraps.

This is my quilt that I call "Beary Colorful"
It was made as part of a stashbusting project
I was going to give it away,
but then I really liked it after it was quilted,
so I am keeping it....MINE!

I am learning how to knit
and have picked up crocheting again.
Maybe I will set a goal to enter a
knitted or crocheted project next year instead of a quilt!
Challenge myself!

Fabric Stash Report

No changes!
This was our last official week of Summer,
so we tried to do all those last of Summer outside projects:

Removed a 8 foot bush/tree
Stripped the paint/varnish off the 3 furniture pieces
Trimmed down many other yard flowers/bushes

Husband goes back to the Jr. High on Tuesday,
with the students following the next Monday.

Daughter is at her 6-week post baby date,
so she can go back to work too.

And me...
I tend to organize my schedule
from September-August, so I am planning
out my life for the next year.

Sewing/Quilting projects
Learning to knit
Books I want to read
Places I want to visit
2012-year of the Big Celebration
(my 50th/our 30th anniversay)

No weekly goals this week...

How are you doing on your goals?

Used furniture to something new!

I went shopping and found some nice furniture pieces.

I found this dresser for $20
The blue color is a little too country for me.
I'm going to strip it down to the wood,
then decide if I am going to stain or repaint it.

I also found these 2 end tables.
I like mission style table in the front.
I would like to stain it a little darker to match
our other mission style furniture.
The back table is just interesting.

Do you refinish used furniture too?
Any tips or success stories?

Hand wash day!

I found some beautiful
vintage textiles while on vacation.

Washed it all by hand today.

Some hankerchiefs will go into a basket quilt.
Some will be used....I love vintage!

Summer travels!

I took off for a quick 4 day vacation
 north into Idaho and Montana
for a little cabin camping and sight seeing.

I don't have all my photos back yet,
but here is a little show of the Idaho.

Henry's Lake..view from the Cabin

Quite a spectacular storm rolled over the Lake.

Cute little varmint I shared my breakfast with each morning.

I enjoyed some quiet time on the porch!

Beautiful sunset over Henry's Lake!

I'll do another post when I get the rest of photos ready.
